I loved this whole exchange. Mary learning about John and the way the boys were brought up.  I think it made Mary feel even guiltier than before.
My favourite part is when Dean says Sam went to Stanford. Just the way he says it. Even though that period in his life was probably horrible without having Sam next to him, he is unbelievably proud of Sam and it shows.
