Hi Brenda! Could you elaborate on your tags on that gifset of Seb answering that stupid question about S&M at the con? You said it was perfect trolling and I would like to know why you think that, what gives it away. That question is so cringeworthy and gives me second hand embarrassement, so the fact Seb was trolling the fan makes me grin. Thanks!

Hi Brenda, can you explain exactly what the fan said to
Sebastian and his response? I honestly don’t understand what either of
them meant.

Hi there, Nonnies!

Okay, let’s talk about this for a second (post is here for those playing along)

First, let’s think about how HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY inappropriate that question was. I cannot stress enough that celebrities are NOT your fucking friends! I don’t care how nice they are or how big they smile at you or if they’re super chill during Q&As or in Meet & Greets or photo ops or if you run into them on a coffee run – you do not KNOW these people and you don’t get to ask them invasive personal questions.

And Seb’s entire body language makes his stance on getting asked this question very clear – that smirk, that ‘really bro’ tilt of the head, the repeating of ‘what? what?’ just giving the OP asker more rope to hang themselves and think about their terrible life choices – it’s masterful.

This is a man who could have easily gone, ‘hey, why don’t I turn this around and ask YOU, random fucking stranger, what your stance on S&M is, and expect you to answer in front of a room full of people you don’t know, all for my amusement, because I don’t consider you to be a real person with boundaries, because I paid money to be in this room, which somehow translates into I’m entitled to you in some way’ – but he didn’t. Instead, he just turned it around on the OP asker and drew the moment out and made them own it in a way that made it clear he found the question invasive, and then gave the most ‘are you for fucking real’ answer he could before moving on.

And he did it all with a smile on his face.

Like I said, it was masterful. Seb should really be teaching classes in how to troll like a boss.

But, for real, I cannot stress this enough, guys – just because celebs seem nice and personable and charming does not mean you can ignore societal rules about space and fucking boundaries and base levels of respect when you’re around them. They’re not wind-up dolls – they’re human beings. Please behave around them accordingly, and act like you were raised right.

Otherwise, when you get trolled by said celeb over your inappropriateness, well, it’s no less than what you deserve.
