Have people realized that after Loki says “Odin’s son” and looks at Thor teary eyed then drops his gaze and says “swear to you my undying fidelity”, he’s actually saying that to Thor? It was around the same moment the knife appeared in his hand. He decided he was dying for his brother then, and he wanted to settle all the history between them and he wanted him to know he was loyal to him until his dying breath. The look in Thor’s eyes shows that he understood what it means that and he’s so goddamn scared. It fucks me up.
joss whedon: loki tortures and murders people for fun, and, despite being the god of CHAOS, is a fascist who says things like “it’s the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation”
taika waititi: loki is an annoying little shit who day-drinks, puts on theater about himself, and fucks his way to the top
joss whedon: loki and thor are gods, so they always talk proper and posh and in cryptic riddles so for no reason. it makes them seem more powerful and mystical.
taiki waititi: one time when they were kids loki turned into a snake because he knows thor loves snakes and then thor went to pick up the snake and then loki turned back into himself and screamed “yueagh, it’s me!” and then he stabbed thor
Taika Waititi has a deeper understanding of Norse mythological accuracy than Joss lol
a few days ago i was walkin past a basketball court and a ball Flew at me and i
1) didn’t flinch
2) caught the ball
3) threw it back at the guy
4) responded to his “thanks bro” with a nod
it was like the ghost of some guy named chad took over me so i didn’t like embarrass myself
a bro talked to me today and it caught me v off guard but instead of my voice rising an octave it dropped an octave and i suddenly was effortlessly speaking Bro™ back to him. this resulted in a very positive interaction
thanks, chad
