Article 13 #CensorshipMachine, and Net Neutrality being under attack again.

Article 13 is BAD, folks. It seeks to tear apart the internet as we know it, just as those in the United States fear will happen with the retraction of Net Neutrality.

Do you like YouTube, AO3, Tumblr, Twitter, or art, writing and memes that are related to your personal interests in show, internet content, movies, bands etc? WELL, WAKE UP BECAUSE SOON THAT’S ALL GOING TO GO AWAY IF THOSE IN AND OUT OF EUROPE DO NOT TAKE A STAND. Creativity through the internet is in jeopardy, and we cannot sit around.

Contact your MEPs, speak up for what is right and what you believe in. The internet and how we use it is vital in this day and age. Do not let that right be taken away from you. Do not let them sector creativity and freedom.

To partake in the fight to save Net Neutrality, call your local congressperson(s) and let them know why it is so important.

To recap:

Net Neutrality: VERY GOOD AFFECTS THE UNITED STATES FOR NOW, BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE THEY WILL GET MONEY HUNGRY FOR IF THIS DIES

Article 13 #CensorshipMachine: QUITE BAD AFFECTS DIRECTLY EUROPE FOR NOW, BUT THIS WILL LEAK INTO OTHER AREAS OBVIOUSLY

Without Net Neutrality, you will be legally charged to pay for your internet in an elimination way (i.e. “I need Google, but I want Tumblr this month too, so I guess no Twitter, Instagram or Reddit for me for the next while…”)

With Article 13 passing, it will be illegal for fanart, fanfiction, memes to be posted on the internet due to “copyright infringement laws.” ALL OF THIS WILL BE BANNED FOLKS. NO MORE FOR ANYONE.

In conclusion: I hope we all stand up to fight for freedom on the internet, and do not ignore the glaring issues as those higher up wish we would. Freedom for all on the internet is a right, not a privilege.
