Can we just talk about how much more effective Jensen made this scene by crying instead of raging? It sent that much of a stronger message. If he’d have been angry and losing his mind at Chuck, that’s where the focus would have been – on his anger.
Instead, we’re forced to quiet ourselves and listen to his broken, cracking voice as he asks God why didn’t he step in, why didn’t he stop all the horror and terror in this world? You know what he’s thinking about – Mary, Azazel, Samuel and Deanna, Henry, Sam – and John.
Jensen’s acting choices are so complex and amazing. The CW needs to get off it’s ass and submit an Emmy reel. It’s ridiculous that an actor THIS GOOD has been ignored for eleven years.

They do submit episodes for Emmy consideration and I remember reading that in season 2 they picked the finale specifically because of Jensen’s performance. The Emmys have a history of ignoring horror, fantasy, and sci-fi shows, they hardly ever got noms. Jensen said during filming The End Kripke told him he was giving an Emmy winning performance but they’d never got a nom because of the type of show they are. The only nominations they’ve ever given to Supernatural are for sound editing and music composition. But Entertainment Weekly created the EWwy awards to “honor worthy actors and series not nominated for the Primetime Emmys” and Jensen won Best Actor in 2008 and 2010.

The Emmys have ignored Jensen but it’s not because CW doesn’t try.
