Why is the only thing sam has a crayon. WHY A CRAYON OF ALL THINGS

because it can’t be used as a weapon. A pen or pencil can be stabbed into someone if you use enough force. Aim for the jugular and it can be deadly

Try and stab someone with a crayon and the worst you can do is give them a small bruise

Crowley looks so affronted by being given a crayon of all things.

I bet he drew Dean with black eyes somewhere…

I wonder if there were any sigils he could have drawn with the crayon? I doubt either of the brothers would have expected him to pull off something like that while locked in the dungeon. 

Sigils are used to protect against supernatural creatures. If Crowley knew that Gadreel was inside Sam (but there’s no canon to indicate that he did) he could have used the crayon to draw anti-angel sigils to prevent Sam/Gadreel from getting too close to him or used his blood to do the angel banishing sigil and blast Sam/Gadreel out of the bunker for a short period of time. There is no Supernatural canon for sigils that would repel or banish humans which means Crowley could not have used that crayon or anything else to repel or banish Dean and Kevin.
